GORALGURU'S LITTLE HOMELEOPARD

The Bengal:
wildly wonderful.

A Bengal brings the beauty of the little leopard into a home. At Goralguru, health, temperament, and breed quality guide every breeding decision.

A BRIEF BREED HISTORY

Wild-inspired looks,
domestic companions.

The Bengal was developed to bring together the striking spotted look of the Asian leopard cat and the temperament of a domestic cat. In 1963, breeder Jean Mill made an early deliberate cross between a domestic cat and an Asian leopard cat. The modern Bengal breed was developed through careful selective breeding from the early 1980s onward.

The International Cat Association (TICA) accepted the Bengal as a new breed in 1986, and it gained championship status in 1991. Today’s pet Bengals are domestic cats bred Bengal-to-Bengal, selected for health, temperament, and breed type.

TEMPERAMENT & PERSONALITY

Bright, busy,
and close to you.

Bengals are often curious, confident, intelligent, and people-oriented. Many enjoy being involved in household life, interactive play, learning games, and exploring high places. Some are vocal and communicative; others are quieter. Just like any breed, each cat has an individual personality.

Their energy and curiosity call for daily attention, play, and mental enrichment. A Bengal may enjoy puzzle feeders, climbing spaces, and training games. With thoughtful introductions, many can live happily with other pets, but the right match depends on the individual animals.

We value a friendly, social temperament and consider each cat’s character alongside health and appearance.

THE BENGAL PERSONALITY

More than a coat.

Goralguru's aim is to raise a beautiful Bengal with the disposition to be a cherished home companion—a little homeleopard whose character matters as much as appearance.

As a dedicated breeder, Goralguru places health, temperament, and breed quality at the centre of its work. The cattery works with world-class top cats and breeds with passion and care.

BENGALS IN A NUTSHELL

Curious minds.
Wonderful energy.

Bengals are spectacular, striking cats, often described as miniature forest cats. They resemble their wild counterparts in appearance and in the way they move. Curious and highly intelligent, they want to be involved in everything around them and are known for their high activity levels.

They need plenty of interaction, mental stimulation, and physical challenges. Bengals enjoy elevated spaces where they can observe their surroundings, and are often vocal and communicative with their people.

A Bengal usually thrives with companionship—this may be a dog, another Bengal, or a confident, assertive cat, depending on the individual animals. Without enough enrichment and attention, a Bengal can become bored or frustrated, which may lead to unwanted or destructive behaviour at home.

A GOOD FIT GOES BOTH WAYS

Is Bengal life
right for you?

Consider the everyday—not just the first photo. Bengals thrive with people who welcome play, enrichment, and a little lively conversation.

01

Time to play

Short, engaging play sessions and interactive toys help channel their energy and build a happy routine.

02

Room to climb

Safe vertical spaces, scratching options, and interesting places to explore make a home more rewarding.

03

Company and consistency

Regular attention and a predictable rhythm help a bright, social cat feel secure. Think through long stretches alone.

04

Realistic expectations

A Bengal is not hypoallergenic, and coat patterns don't predict personality. Meet the individual cat and ask questions.
